The Transmission – Nov 20, 2020
Updates from me—
We’re releasing a remastered version of Drink The Sea on Dec 4 with remixes and rarities, and the second single is out today.
I have been completely immersed in the studio this year. Starting in December, there will be a flood of new music, meditations, and new projects. I think this is some of the best work of my life. More on that soon…
There was a great article in Vanity Fair this week about how psilocybin was the real winner of this election. It does not go deep but does an excellent job of summarizing the legal trajectory of psychedelic therapy. Pair it with this article about how DMT might promote the formation of new neurons.
Kruder and Dorfmeister released a new album called 1995, and I love it. Their K&D Sessions album was one of the best things to come out of the trip-hop era IMO. The music is pure warmth and a great contrast to electronic sounds.
I updated the Ambient Ritual playlist with a ton of new music, meticulously curated for morning rituals or deep-dives. I have been exploring Japanese ambient and finding a lot of gems. This album from Morimoto Naoki is gorgeous, as well as Scenes of Scapes from Kenji Kihara.
My friend Cory Allen dropped a beautiful loving-kindness (metta) meditation on his podcast. Highly recommended.
This app Seek is pure magic. It uses machine learning to identify plants, some mushrooms, and animals, and it’s free. I have been using it when wandering around my neighborhood, learning things about the plants around me.
I posted this on my Instagram, but it’s so good it’s worth sharing again here.
